President's Report

P&C President Report - 6th August 2019

Hi Everyone,

Thank you to everyone to who made the effort to come along to last night’s meeting. It was a great atmosphere with lots of new ideas thrown around. Thanks to those that emailed ideas in as well. If you couldn’t make the meeting, please drop me a line at the email below or jot down your idea and pop it into the P&C box in the Infants or Primary office. Don’t forget there is an ‘Application for Funding’ form available on the P&C section of the website in the ‘Policies and Forms’ section. We’ll collate the ideas raised and review them over the coming months - we’ll keep you posted.

Thank you also to Peter Brack, Our Community Partner, for coming along last night to talk about the Century 21 Radar Properties offer that was recently taken up by a Warrawee community member. Being the first family to take up the offer for the sale of their property, they saved 50% on the commission with the other 50% being donated to Warrawee Public School P&C! Don't forget, as part of their Community Partnership Agreement, Century 21 Radar Properties will still donate 10% of their net sales commission to the P&C for any further sales that come as a result of a referral from a parent or community member and donate $500 to the P&C for any switch or referral of a Rental Property Management to Century 21.

Due to a clash with the final of the Rugby World Cup on 2 November, the decision was taken at last night’s P&C meeting to move the event to the following Saturday 9 November. Apologies for any inconvenience this causes but it was felt to be the wisest decision in trying to make our event the best possible night for all our parents. Please mark the new date in your diaries now!

Thank you for everyone who has volunteered to help with the event organisation and the collaborative art project so far. We are still looking for an interested Kindy parent to assist with the art project. Please contact Loueen S at fundraising.warraweepandc@gmail.com to register your interest.

Also, we are still calling for any interested parents and teachers to be part of our band to play on the evening. If you think you might be interested in being part of what I’m sure will be a lot of fun, please contact Katy B at vicepresident.warraweepandc@gmail.com  Any interested teachers please speak to Mr Cowley.

Our second fundraising Father’s Day Breakfast is coming up on Thursday 29 August from 7.45am so please lock the date into your diaries now!! Planning is well underway and we have taken onboard feedback from last year so queues will be shorter and we are hoping to have a second coffee cart on site. Breakfasts are prepurchase only so please jump onto Flexischools and order your breakfast for you and your child now. Any Year 4 parents who can help out with this event please let Katy B know at vicepresident.warraweepandc@gmail.com to register your interest.

A very big thank you to the Canteen for catering the morning tea and lunch for the teachers and helpers at the Athletics carnival last week. Everyone was very thankful and very well fed. Thank you to the volunteers who helped serve the food on the day, including Aristina Z, Loueen S, Kate McK and Rachel W. Thanks also to the Canteen for assisting the school with catering for morning tea at yesterday’s Open Day and Book Parade.

The canteen had a great day at the carnival, the sausage sizzle was a huge success, thank you all for ordering online.  Our stall went very well, the children loved the special 'carnival' treats and we all had a great day.  A huge thank you to the parents who helped us serve/set up/pack up, we really appreciate all your support.

You may have noticed a new drink on the menu, the kids are really enjoying these.   These are in line with the new healthy menu strategy.  There will also be a slight change to our snack range in the next few weeks.
